Food and Fuel Ltd

Food and Fuel is the name of our company which currently owns eight gastro pubs and two café – bars, all in London. You can view them all if you click the button marked "OUR PLACES".

Food and Fuel was started in April 2006 by Karen Jones, Jo Cumming and Peter Myers with the aim of creating a group of gastro pubs and local café bars dedicated to the provision of true hospitality – fresh, seasonal and delicious food and excellent wines, beers and ales, informed and efficient service and a real welcome. And value is never forgotten: our watchwords are price, quality and service.

The three of us, and our senior team of Peter O’Sullivan (Development Chef), AJ Steer (Operations Director) and Lisa Phillips (Operations Manager), have worked together for a very long  (and, it goes without saying, very happy) time. We created and expanded Café Rouge and Dome, building them into the Pelican Group Plc, before selling to Whitbread in 1996. After that we bought pubs – a lot of pubs – creating Spirit, where Karen was CEO, Jo was head of Devco and Investment Director and Peter Operations Director. We sold Spirit to Punch Taverns in 2006 – and now we are Food and Fuel.
